6 Dumb Things Women Pack
Women overpack, that is a fact. Please share this with friends who overpack or are nervous about what to bring. The Women’s Travel Group, small group tours for women is generous in how much you can bring for our porterage inclusion; however, here are the 6 dumbest items you might pack.
- Jewelry of any kind. Packing even fake jewelry is an invitation for theft. Packing jewelry that has large stars on it is an invitation for the TSA to confiscate it as a possible weapon.

5 Surprises in Mexico City
Named the TOP DESTINATION FOR 2016, Mexico City is a total surprise for most women who go with The Women’s Travel Group. Here is our trip.
Safe to wander downtown and easy to walk to the main plaza and stores.
Food is fantastic and if you avoid the obvious: unwashed veg and fruit, you will swoon. Mexico City is a gourmet paradise and our trips offer a la carte dining there. Do not miss the bakeries.
Don’t bring much money; everything is cheap and our trip includes most of your costs.…

Never Eat these 10 No No’s Overseas
There are certain no no’s if you wish to travel to more exotic places and NOT get sick. This blog post might sound too conservative but why lose your hard earned money and days on a trip when you get sick?
- Shell fish, unless you are in a fine restaurant adjacent to the sea!
- Fish on weekends or after holidays. In some countries, fish is not delivered on weekends, Mondays or holidays….your fish will be old.
- Cut up fruit cocktail, not everyone washes hands when cutting fruit.

Get a Life in 2017
How come we all don’t Get a Life? What holds us back from taking a trip? The Women’s Travel Group believes it is habits and allergies.
Habits are what we acquire; saying good things like Thank You, doing good deeds like picking up litter or reacting appropriately like smiling at a child. Habits are also bad, no need to list those. But did you ever think about traveling as a habit? Once you get out of the habit or if you never had the habit, making a decision about travel is worrisome.…

Don’t be dumb with your Smart Phone
Many women who travel with The Women’s Travel Group have smartphones; however many are not phone smart.
Recently I was introduced to Whatsapp.com. Whatsapp has been free since the beginning of 2016. I personally hate catchy names for phone jargon and have very few applications on my smartphone. However, Whatsapp has really helped as I travel.
Keep in touch with others in wifi areas (they must be subscribers but you will know, immediately with their phone number). Call someone, it sounds as if you are around the corner.…

The New York Times Travel Staff solicit pitches from travel writers in the US and overseas, to get to its short list of Top Destinations each year. In 2016 they chose Mexico City as the TOP DESTINATION for the following reasons:

What is a Travel Trend?
The Women’s Travel Group offers some trending destinations: Mexico City, Puebla, Ethiopia, Palermo, and more. A trending place is one that we visit now, and the rest of the US visits in 5 years. A good place to find travel trends is in non-US papers, specifically British ones. Where the Brits go now is where you want to go. The Women’s Travel Group finds and visits these places first. Call us at 646 309 5607 or email us to discuss being trendy!…

Women’s vs Men’s Travel
Yes The Women’s Travel Group Bucket List is gender specific.I write this as a wife with two sons who were born overseas and traveled with me a bunch. Women are different.
Women thrill at exotic and unusual, but we must have a comfortable hotels and decent bathrooms during the tour.
We will experiment with food. But we must have a hearty breakfast, more vegetables, at least one recognizable main dish and dessert!
We like to learn. However walking tours cannot be too long; museum visits must end at absolute maximum 90 minutes.…

Why Mexico and Why Never a Cruise to Mexico?
We are the only women’s group with Tours to Mexico. We never cruise there….Why?
There are at least 10 reasons:
Cruise ports are Disney’d ways to enter Mexico. Built for 1,000’s of tourists, loaded on buses, they erase the beauty seeing a pyramidor glimpsing a green parrot in the jungle.
Mexico means value; the US Dollar is 35% higher and $20 will get you an amazing gift.
Fine dining is reasonable and memorable. The number of special restaurants in culinary capitals like Puebla is staggering.…
